What: NC Cotton Producers Referendum

When: Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Where: Local County Cooperative Extension Office

Who: Anyone who planted, harvested and ginned cotton in NC in 2021 is eligible to vote.

Why: NC Cotton Producers Association strives to enhance producer profitability through people, production and policy. Here’s a few recent examples of success in each area: People: Worked with NCSU & NCDA to establish a new Cotton Extension Agronomist position that lead to the hire Dr. Guy Collins (2015). Established the Marshall W. Grant Cotton Extension Endowment at NCSU (2020). Production: NC Cotton On-Farm Variety Trial Program (2015). NC Cotton Seed Testing and Quality Assurance Program (2020). Annually allocate cotton research funding. Policy: Revised Quality Adjustment Provision in Crop Insurance (2017). Helped secure Gin Cost Share Payments in 2016 & 2017 and establish the Seedcotton PLC program in Title 1 of the 2018 Farm Bill.
